The vive pro is $800 for JUST the headset. No controllers, no base stations, nothing else.

Personally, I would just stick with the regular vive until the pro gets it's price dropped. It's not worth $800.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Supersampling won't help much. Resolution difference between the two is a hardware issue.

Personally, I'd probably go with it if I would have enough money for 2 to 3 months worth of bills after. Otherwise, I'd wait for a sale.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

currently the ONLY way to buy the PRO is in the "upgrade" form of just buying the headset, but that damn thing is 800 BUCKS, do super sampling for now and wait for HTC to get realistic on that freaking price. Once the price is like half that then do the upgrade, Super sampling is good at improving clarity but you are still hardlimited by the screens resolution and the only way to improve is to go higher resolution.

Vive Pro Starter Kit US$1099 also includes controllers and base station. I think it makes more sense than the headset only offering, as this way you get to keep the old system workable (maybe install in a 2nd location or resell) while you upgrade to the pro.

not really, used complete setups aren't going for much more then 300 maybe 400 on a good day so the price difference between the kit and the headset only upgrade is about what you would get selling the old parts.

There is another new vive, but it didn't get as much attention as the vive pro. That vive is no where on their site. It has a totally different design compared to the vive and vive pro.

Update: found it
