Window or No Window?

I ordered an Optiplex and I'm going to be replacing both the case and power supply (the case is beat up and the PSU probably won't support a GTX 980).  It has an mATX board.  The real question is what kind of case will make it most attractive.  I'm reselling it, so I want it to look good.  I don't think anyone would disagree that showing the components has gotten very popular, but that's with motherboards that are designed to be seen.  The motherboard on the Optiplex is green you find on OEM boards, which I think is generally considered unattractive.

 

This isn't so much about personal preference as what you think the average person would like.  I want to be able to sell it for as much as possible, and more people finding attractive is important.

If it's green like the Gigabyte Sniper series then sure. If it's PCB green then no.

PCB green.  Like I said, never designed to be seen.  I just wonder if seeing the GPU and possibly fan lights are worth seeing the motherboard.

I voted no because I don't like Window Cases at all, doesn't matter what's inside...

Regardless of what you like personally, what do you think most people would like?  I don't think I'd like it very much, but I'm not sure how others would feel.

Cases with Windows are Show Cases and should also be used as such, to present exceptionally well made computers,not to use them.

 

Because as far as I know they are illegal to use because they won't stand a chance in EMV tests.

The average person would probably not want to see old Green PCB's, and you're more likely to sell the computer based on how decent the case looks and the specs internally, especially if they're not going to be opening it. 

 

Depending on if you're going for a "modern aesthetic" or not, probably the Define Mini C with the solid side panel option would be good (and silent too, a bonus!) Otherwise they're a lot of "old 2010 designed" cases from the likes of Rosewill

I want to keep my costs down obviously, and computers with lights seem to sell very well in my area. Now I just need to watch out for a good (non-MIR, don't want to wait) deal on a passable PSU.

Lowest good PSU i could find ATM with no MIR. 450W should be enough for a 980, but I'm not 100% sure.

The whole system should use less than 400W at load, even by the Cooler Master calculator, which tends to be on the exaggerated side. But I'm going to wait a bit for something cheaper. It will be the last part I buy.

Windowed cases are illegal because of what now? I must be a major crimnial then with my glass panels on all side 570X

But for real, what's EMV? I'm assuming you don't mean the EMV score from a coma test

Sorry, used the German word for that.

 

And PC Components need a shielded case wich a normal Steel one is (or should be), while the one with window isn't necessarily.

There are a lot of cases that use plastic side panels... Plus Open test beds... I've never heard of PC components needing to be shielded from electrical interference.
