Looking for people to give me their opinion on some parts I chose

Johnnnyb

A friend of mine wanted me to build him a new pc. He has a budget of as close to $1000 as possible and that's what I did my best with here I was also just trying to give him a system that can be upgraded from GPU to storage, though cpu is not a major concern for him as he plays games like GTA 5 and most FPS games. Any opinions on the parts and suggestions? Also I wanted to know if these parts will actually function well togather?

Would that CPU be idiol for someone who isn't sure if they will stream but might?

Get an 8600k its cheaper than the 7700,

Also you don't need an sli mobo if your gonna start off with a 1060 since Sli only starts at 1070's and above.

Also please get a better PSU.

He is going for $1000 and he's buying the parts in the US the price is I believe the American price. Also I forgot to mention that he told me he may stream so I got him 4c i7 hoping that would do a decent enough job for streaming. I know he doesn't intend to overclock but I got it because he needs the wifi compatibility built into the board he doesn't have any ethernet it's only wifi that he has.

doesn't that CPU come with a cooler? When I looked at the CPU I believe I did see it as listed with a CPU cooler included

What's wrong with the PSU I used cooler master PSU calculator to figure out the PSU for this build I went with something that should give room to change the GPU to at least a 1080 and maybe a little higher if possible.

Would that CPU though good enough to atleast be able to give streaming ago because he's not sure if he will stream but he says he may want to?

Thats one possible PSU, like the one he picked, i would recommend you to go with at least 500W 80+ Bronze, do not save on PSU's.

Better get an non modular 600W PSU than an 500W Modular one.

80+ ratings, modularity and wattage don't equate to quality at all, it's better to have a higher quality, lower wattage PSU than higher wattage and lower quality.

Yeah i would agree to that, and I never said the opposite. I just said that i would buy an 600W non modular rather than an 500W modular, in case they cost the same, and have the same quality. Its just often that manufacturers want more cash for modular PSU's at the same wattage.

I just prefer to go with modular myself so that repairability is higher

all cables can be removed if I mess something up since this is my first build I can get it removed and replaced though I guess that would only mean if the power supply actually fails which I guess isn't as often anymore

the system pulls 296 w from the wall

with a 1060 power consumption would be closer to 200-220w.
