Wait for gpu prices to fall or buy a gtx 1050 or ti now?

So I’m building my first pc and I was wondering what I should do. I bought a ryzen5 1600 (have 16gb vengeance lpx at 3000) and I’m struggling whether to buy a gtx 1050 since its cheaper than the 1050 ti at the moment. Or save for the 1050ti or just save up and wait for gpu prices to fall. I’m doing some streaming, gaming in 1080p, and some light editing. Gpu is the last thing I need to buy and struggling on what to do. Any feedback would help! Thanks for your time!

You should never buy your PC in parts, return the R5 1600 if possible and just do an R3 2200G or R5 2400G build.

If not just use a GT 1030 or Used GPU until prices settle.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Kinda hard to say, waiting for prices to fall could take a long time because there is a lot of pent up demand now. I would just save up and try to get the best price you can right now on a GPU that will meet your needs, 1050ti would probably be good.

well, the 1050 has the "normal" price (150 euro in the netherlands), but the 1050ti is about 75 euro more. i'd say get the 1050 or get a used 1050ti for around 150-175 euro

Whats your current GPU ? if you have one, if its a 360-280-380(amd) you are better off not getting a 1050 since all those cards are faster .... Dont be fooled by the "new" pascal architecture... currently on a 280x/770 and both those cards are faster than a 1050/1050ti.... hang in there ;)

Because he's now stuck with an R5 1600 being forced to pay for overpriced GPUs instead just being able to use his budget on an alright R5 2400G

Oh you mean if you plan your rig out badly/buy it in a prolonged period of time (prices can fluctuate) you end up having an imbalanced system, I get it.
