That's how it works because everyone does that "wait and then swoop in at the last second" strategy.  I think it's basically luck lol

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Most of the bidding happens in the last 30 to 10 seconds. Be prepared to watch a price go from $10 to $70 in that time :P

Yes that is what I do, I set the price in my mind and a minute away, I go just above bid, and set max bid. But sometimes there are no other bidders. Like old ipods and old cell phones for example. Like iphone 5 for $25.

you can find fake GPUs searching "750 Ti for nvidia" for example.  The key is the "for nvidia" part - it shows it's not a real one or it would just say "nvidia Geforce <etc>".  Buy it, notice that it's a fake, complain and get refund, hopefully get to keep card, repeat for infinite free average cards lol

once you collect lots of 550 Tis and maybe some actual 750Tis if you're lucky, you could resell those (legitimately, as in, say what they really are instead of calling a bios-flashed 750 Ti a 960 lol), and then use the money to buy CPUs :P

I guess it depends how hardcore you go at it.  @iamdarkyoshi has had some success with this but it's certainly not a get rich quick scheme xD

Well that's just one thing I know of :P Other than that, I suppose just keep an eye out for sales where people clearly don't know what they have and have under-priced it, or things that they are selling cheap because it's broken but you are pretty sure what the cause is and you know how to fix.  You can also buy crates of "broken" CPUs by the pound and either extract and resell the gold, or just test the CPUs - you might find a surprising number actually work perfectly still xD

Some permutation of the words "CPUs for scrap gold recovery" should do it

I dont think that method is really worth the hassle. Depends if you got a good paying job or not. Time is money, money is time.

Those are things you will just sort of stumble across, but odds are you will have better luck with whole systems than with individual parts.  Also watch out for the opposite effect - people massively overpricing things because they don't know how bad it is lol

The language used will be that of someone who doesn't know what they are doing, so it will be very sparse on details (intel CPU, for example), or it will be excessively verbose (Intel® 4th Generation Haswell Core™ i7-4770K Processor, 8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz, for example, as if they just copy pasted from some system info tool).
