I’m not saying it’s the best on the market but I have had a good experience and would recommend with performance, style, no Ram interface, and decent installation.

The H7 is a solid cooler but the Kotetsu has it beat in all areas besides height and aesthetics. The Kotetsu also clears ram, is quieter, and performs better. I personally find installing the Kotetsu easier.

i'm going to build a gaming rig with a i5 8600k, but i dont realy know what air cooler to get.

people reccomend the h7 from cryorig but i can spend some more money on a cooler so i rather get a slighty better one.

my budget is around 50 - 70 euros. does anybody know a good one?

i would get the cryorig H7 and spend the extra money on some fans for it that would match your build.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

What case and ram are you using?

@JabroniBaloney Also running the R1 Universal you can see it in my Avitar pictuire.

Its one of the best air coolers money can buy and outright beats 240mm AIOs as long as the cooler is fed properly (good airflow to cooler)

You will notice I have maximum upgraded case fans plus upgraded CPU cooler fans (see signature for build) so dont expect the same performance unless you get a big case with lots of fans.

That being said, I totally recommend it, there are only 2 issues with it: A.) At $90 USD, it pretty much maxes out your budget. B.) At 169mm tall, you will struggle to fit this monster of a cooler into most mid-tower cases.

Meh my CPU was under 70c after an hour of AIDA64 with the 2 fans that come with the Define S.

Ya I went overboard with my fans but its the "Ultimate Air-Cooled" Build so ya know, $200 on fans lol.

The good news is that even with maximum 4.0GHz overclock on my current Phenom II X4 970 (which is a very hot chip - 125W TDP + Max OC) Ive NEVER had this CPU even touch 70C using Intel Burn Test V2.54 on maximum mode.

This is probably due to my rediculous amount of airflow with all the fans plus the Phanteks PH-F140 HP II CPU heatsink fans which are not only much higher RPM than the Cryorig ones but are much better at static pressure as well.

Not saying the stock cooler is bad oh no its badass just the way it comes, but damn I bet I could OC a Threadripper 1950X and STILL have good temps in this moster. At full fan speed it feels like a freaking wind tunnel in my case lol.

Cant wait for my new RAM so I can finally put my Ryzen 5 1600X system together and test it out!

Depending on how much you prefer to spend, good options include:

Kotetsu: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/358563/scythe-kotetsu.html

Mugen Rev. B: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/852319/scythe-mugen-5-rev-b.html

Either would easily be better than the H55.

H7 is awesome—and sometimes there’s no reason to spend 40euros for 3C less...

You won't get better cooling than the Mugen 5 Rev. B with a thin 120mm AIO like the MasterLiquid 120. If you want a 120mm rad that's better cooling, you'll need something thicker like the H80i v2: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/434614/corsair-hydro-h80i-v2.html

If you don't care that much about performance and just want the aesthetic, the H45 is a bit cheaper and performs similarly to the Kotetsu: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/542693/corsair-hydro-h45.html

The Kotetsu is better and cheaper.

It performs similarly to the NH-U12S which is better than the H7:

I’m not saying it’s the best on the market but I have had a good experience and would recommend with performance, style, no Ram interface, and decent installation.
