Just got word that the X470 boards wont release until April 19th, which means B450 boards wont be out for longer than that (May, June?). I've got literally everything I need for this build EXCEPT a motherboard in hopes the B450's launched in march. (Should have waited, oh well, I got someone waiting to build this ASAP so I cant wait that long)

 

I looked as the AsRock AB350M Pro 4 and that suddenly was getting a wave of negative reviews on Newegg so I'm trying to stay away from that even though it's the only one that I see advertising "Ryzen 2000 compatibility" which means I'll have to buy a mobo and have AMD send a flash kit... I just want to buy a decent motherboard that has a 2000 bios ready. Would prefer 4 RAM slots (will be using 2 for now)

Was gonna say pro4. People seem to be complaining about freezes which km guessing might be related to not enough voltage. If it worries you then you could go for a mortar

B350M gaming pro is the worst mobo for overclocking, literally anything but that

Am4 msi boards are shit

They have long post times and are terrible in general.

I hate my msi x370 gaming plus

I hadnt even considered that as an option. I'm gonna keep that high on the options list since I've seen that boot kits can take more than a week to arrive in some cases, and if you could get it from Micro center for example and have it flashed within a day that would be awesome (I'd expect lots of high res photos ;) )

Had see a lot about the VRM's on MSI boards, thought they might have been fixed. Interesting.... Overclocking is not the primary goal of this and it's more about stability. Yet of course overclocking a bit will help out a lot, so it's still an important factor.
