Will 2400Mhz RAM be compatible with this Mobo?

HK_Rage

Why do you need 2400mhz ram in a system with that motherboard?

^

Also, the mobo only supports up to 2133 mhz.

According to the manufactures website it won't be able to run at that speed not sure if it will work at all but if so it will be working at a lower speed (underclocked) therefore less performance that what it could potentially do.

Some 2400Mhz RAM are cheaper than the 1600-2133Mhz ones.

Also would unlocking to 2133Mhz allow the RAM to work on the Mobo?

My question wasn't in a harmful intention. I just asked out of curiosity.

2400Mhz RAM is pretty useless...

Just get a cheap 1600Mhz set, the FX Cpu's can't make good use of 2400Mhz RAM anyway.

Take the money you were going to spend on 2400 ram and get this MB instead.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131851

It's on sale for 129 bucks atm and it won't blow up when you OC your 8350.

The only way I would go that cheap on a MB is if I was running a 6300fx.

Clock speed >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ram speed.

Get the cheapest 1600 1866 cl9 1.5v you can.

You can get 2400mhz ram and it will run at 2133 with some overclocking.

Buy that. I don't know any Gskill 1600 cl9 1.5V that won't usually do 9-10-9-28 T1 at 1866.

The price is outstanding .
