Getting a game on a cd to a pc without a cd drive?

VicRik

Hi guys,

I have an old game I would love to play again but that is stuck on a cd. My new gaming PC does not have a cd drive. My parents' PC does have one. Is it possible to use that PC to get the game onto my PC using a USB drive for example? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

you can create an image of your CD, put it on your usb drive and then run it on your pc with something like daemontools

5900X

MSI MEG X570 Unify

32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance

RTX 3080

Dark Base Pro 900

Corsair RM1000i

Pull one out of a laptop and plug directly into a SATA port on your motherboard, power it directly from the PSU.

This is pretty much all they are SST-SOB02  (well what mine is ;) anyway).

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves (Abraham Lincoln,1808-1865; 16th US president).

You also have the option of purchasing external CD drive that utilizes USB.

If it hasn't got some odd drm, ripping image should work. If there is drm, you should get external drive. Or look if you can find it in GOG.com.
