TKL Keyboards

Swegly

I have been using the same corsair k70 for 5 years now and it still works as good as the first day I bought it, however Ive always only ever played competetive esports games and was wondering what about your opinion whether its worth switchiing to a TKL keyboard for the better coordination and mouse space. Im only hesitant on switching to a new keyboard because this k70 is in perfect condition and normally I dont fix what aint broke.

If you think that TKL keyboards are worth it, can you please suggest a good one that has RGB, Cherry MX Red switches, and a compact and clean design.

Thanks!

K65 gets my vote.

Only you can answer if TKL is for you. Comes down to your shoulder width really. If you have broad shoulders you probably won't even notice the difference.

When I was looking for a new keyboard I found the 96 key layout absolutely fascinating. Almost every single key but barely wider than a TKL.

Sadly, I couldn't find a reasonably priced PCB (+shipping).

I ended up finding the 84 key keyboard I have now and I thought "might as well get it, I'll get an external numpad if I feel the need".

I didn't expect to get used to not having it, but that is indeed what happened.

I am so happy with a TKL that I actually didn't buy a 96 key layout PCB I recently found. I have no need for it.

60% is even better.

I like 70% more (or was it 75%?) Because I often use the Function keys. Sadly there is not much of it out there (not in terms of on the shelf or just custom PCB's.).

In the end I did get a TKL board, but I'm looking for something nice in 75%. Because I don't use the numpad, TKL seemed quite ideal for me; but most of the navigation keys I also don't use...

But if you do use either, a medium size might be better (think like the Masterkeys Pro M), because they have the numpad and navigation combined, so you have both: but it's still not as wide as a full sized board.

I use nav and function row all the time too. They're just on layer 2.
