...why are you already thinking about upgrading to a product that you don't know if even exists nor how it performs.

This is like game preoreder bad.

Well I think we can all agree that it will perform better than current gen.

Also if you can get a pre-order on it you stand to potentially make a profit by selling a 1080ti for 1200 and picking up the new 2080 or w/e for 600ish.

Assuming you were patient enough to wait for the 1080ti, so i'd say wait for the ti version of the card even if it isn't until late this year/2019.

Could always add an extra 1080ti.

Why did you sell your GTX 1080ti which has not been talked about by Nvidia.

Nobody has a clue how the 2080 will perf and how much it will cost. Even rumors out now aren't that informative so I personally think its a bad idea. Also, can you live a couple of months without a higher-end GPU? (unless you buy a lower-end GPU however it kinda renders the whole exercise kinda pointless).

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Well one can presume that: 980 > 780 ti, and 1080 > 980 ti. The 2080 would perform better than a 1080 ti. So, yes? if you can wait and are able to get it on release. But who knows when it'll be released.

On a different note if you want to let your 1080ti's go for around or maybe $100 higher than MSRP I will buy them. I have the budget for a decent amount... want to start doing some mining with nvidia instead of just amd cards.

I think the 2080 will be 20% faster than the ti with better power consumption and higher efficiency. Nvidia also prices there cards around 800€/$

if the 2080 is faster than the 1080ti it will have the exact same price hikes over msrp or shortages. you won't be getting this card for msrp.

When I am consider about it its true but i have head about new special mining card and if they are more expensive than the normal ones it will keep the price.

Or am I completly wrong?

That would be news to me.  Some cards may be slightly more geared for mining and I could see them marketting a series that way in the future, but this wouldn't drive prices down in the short term or save supply.

I wouldn't be absolutely certain on the performance gains this generation.  The die shrink alone won't be as significant as previous gens.

No it's not worth it

No the next card worth upgrading to would be a 2080ti, going off Nvidia history, the 2080 will be around the same as an average overclocked 1080ti, So your gains in performance will be whatever overclock you can get out of the 2080.

I have a rule that i don't upgrade my GPU until i can get around 75% gains in performance increase, the way AMD are going my next card will be in the year 2035.
