Low cost monitor help with G-Sync

STRESSMASTER

My son is complaining that a ton of screen tearing is happening and I do know that it is from having the video card (GTX 750 ti 4Gb) (old 4:3 dell 15" monitor) sending more FPS that the current monitor is setup for.

First how would I go about putting a global (all apps/games) FIX in place

Second What is the best 1080p g-sync monitor for the cheapest possible. i.e. best price point but hopefully under $250 USD

Thanks

Vsync will probably solve it as far as a all game/app fix I think in the Nvidia control panel their should be a force vsync option (99.9% of monitors are 60hz so pick that) Wish I could be more specific but don't have any Nvidia gpus atm. As for gsync your best bet would be to buy used most gsync monitors new are in the $300-400 range

G-sync is a waste of money

Just enable V-sync, a frame cap, or use Fast Sync preferably which only works if you stay above your monitor's refresh cap

If you want a better monitor in general, there are solid free-sync options at $200 and under, could potentially move to a Ryzen APU rig in the future to make use of free-sync, but that likely isn't worth it.

Either 1080p 75hz IPS (my pick)
or 1080p 144hz TN

Unless the display is going to sit pretty far away 27" or larger for 1080p doesn't make much sense.

So how far away does the display need to sit? because that the size will change. There are some options in that size range for 1080p IPS monitors, but normally it makes no sense to buy them.

G-Sync wise your much better off getting a slightly smaller 24' monitor than a 27' monitor at 1080p. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB241H-bmipr-1920x1080/dp/B01C05C1OK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518760489&sr=8-1&keywords=g-sync+monitor+144hz+1080p

Your saving around $200 for 3 inches of monitor, it just sucks how much g-sync monitors cost in general.

and $150 more than the same type of display with free-sync

Thus why G-sync is a waste of money.
