Is 8GB of RAM Enough In 2018?

In case no one can read that it says 826/8/9 tabs one of the 3 :P If I was to open all of them up in one shot Chrome would crash due to overloading.

I had 8GB of ram and when I was using my Oculus Rift and someone went on-line on my laptop it crashed and burned. I promptly went on Ebay for another 8GB stick. My laptop, a GL702VM-GC003t, originally shipped with 8GB and was advertised as VR ready, it obviously wasn't....:(

So, in answer to the question "is 8GB of ram enough" the answer is a resounding NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
