CPU Cooler Performance Tier List

https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=8_129&item_id=160985

[23 USD][32 CAD]
For the price it seems pretty good right? Using with a 3600X.
How is the Deepcool Fan? Should I replace with an Arctic P12 PWM[10 Canadian?]
I do like the look of it.

Yes, that's a decent price. The included fan is fine and the P12 PWM isn't going to be significantly better. You'd be better off getting a better cooler at that point.

If you just had an extra fan lying around, you could try push / pull.

Hey there,

This thread helped me narrow down all the choices as I planning to buy a aftermarket cooler for the Ryzen 5 3600.

Ambient temperature is around 40 Degrees,

Idle temp on stock is around 50-56 degrees

Average loads goes to higher 70s (boosts till 4.0 on some cores)

Full load goes to 95 where the CPU throttles to 3.75Gghz

I am really confused between the

Noctua NH-C14S (as case clearence of 150mm only)

Deepcool Gammaxx L240 v2

How much of a difference do you think would it make? Do you have any other suggesstions?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

A.

For that kind of temps you should, if possible, use a 360mm aio

A 360mm would be way over my budget and wouldnt fit in my case. Hence the Noctua NH-C14S and Deepcool Gammaxx L240 v2

Can you order directly for the factory the 280mm would also be good, there is just so little in difference where i live, on the 240,280 and 360mm that it's a much better buy, value for money to buy the 360mm aio

@gasolin and @WoodenMarker

I have re-checked my options and it comes down to the Deepcool Castle 240 v2 and the Antec Neptune 240

Which one would you suggest?

Out of all of these which would best be able to sustain a 3900x with auto and pbo enabled for the most decent prices in the us?

Well, for air coolers, the best air cooler would be the Deepcool Assassin III at $91. A more budget air cooler would be something like the Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo at ~$50-55 and the ID-COOLING SE-234-ARGB at $43, though if you can find it in stock, the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B at $49 and the Scythe Fuma 2 and Ninja 5 at $60 would also be good options.

As for AIOs, the Arctic Freezer 120mm is a good budget AIO at $75 ($70+$5 shipping on Amazon, sold by Arctic themselves), and I don't know much about AIOs other than that.

Hello, I build myself a PC a few months ago using the stock heatsink for my 3600X. I'd like to upgrade the CPU cooler and case fans but am completely overwhelmed by all the options. I'm looking for a quiet cpu cooler, that can fit in my case, is either black or RGB, and price isn't really a concern. Any suggestions are appreciated.

P.S. Any good 120mm case fan suggestions for one static and one airflow would be appreciated as well.

Parts list:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B450-I Gaming Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Storage: Intel 660p Series 1.02 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Black 6 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB FTW DT GAMING ACX 3.0 Video Card
Case: Silverstone Lucid LD03 Mini ITX Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair SF 450 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply

Thank you for reading/commenting.

I have NH-D15 with chromax covers, but I'll buy NH-U12A Chromax if Noctua make it and sell my current NH-D15.

So no new air coolers are going to come out before 2021?
