New HDD

Wanting to get a new hard drive and not sure which one to get. I'm looking for speed (I already have a SSD, I'm looking for mass storage), can someone suggest one? Should I go for a hybrid drive or for a traditional hard drive? Preferably 7,200 RPM either 1 or 2 TB.

If you already have a SSD just get a regular HDD like a Seagate Barracuda.

If you already have a SSD just get a regular HDD like a Seagate Barracuda.

 

To be fair the barracudas are pretty far from regular HDD's :P

Because 7200rpm

7200 rpm is standard for desktop drives.

I guess i have to surrender this argument due to the fact that WG greens here are nearly costs the same as barracudas wtf

Barracudas and Greens are nearly the same price for most places.

 

What are WD thinking, the greens are supposed to be cheaper mass storage drives with less power draw, who would buy them over the barracudas when they cost the frigging same?. Are they more reliable or something?.

They're quieter, run cooler, and draw less power.

For storage, get 3TB drives, they are cheap now! Seagate or Western Digital. You don't particularly need speed do you?

I'd personally get a 2TB SSHD.
