Mechanical keyboard recommendations

MoonlightSylv

So my current Razer BlackWidow 2014 is starting to get old, some of the keys have lost their clickyness and it kinda bothers me.

What I want:

  • Blue switches
  • RGB preferred but not required
  • Under $100 USD if possible
  • Preferably has numpad but not required
  • Something that will last a decent amount of time

Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest taking a look at the Corsair STRAFE or Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L.

Is there anything a little cheaper you would recommend?

Corsair has a refurbished section on their website. Maybe I got lucky with mine, but my k70 I picked up for like $70 is still working perfectly and came looking and feeling brand new. I know people don’t like that route but it’s a good budget route imo

I've really only looked at premium mechanical keyboards ($120+) as of late. I've tried both these keyboards at my local Micro Center when shopping for my Corsair K70, so I can personally vouch for them. Any other keyboards I could list I've never actually used. By the way, a non-RGB Corsair STRAFE costs around $86.99.

Get something used and use the saved money on new key caps or whatever. I haven't found it too hard to find pretty un used ones for ~€50

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

Try to see if you can find the Rantopad MXX RGB.

  • Blue switches - you CAN get them in Gateron Blues
  • RGB preferred but not required - is RGB
  • Under $100 USD if possible - should be around 80$ or less
  • Preferably has numpad but not required - sadly it's TKL
  • Something that will last a decent amount of time - eh haha

Razer Blackwidow V2 - Brilliant keyboard !- Way better key switches than the 2014 version and quality is up there with the best  - you cannot go wrong with the new

Razer Blackwidow V2

I own both the 2014 Blackwidow with Green Switches ( Khail )and the new Blackwidow V2 - Green switches ( Greetech )

the new V2 is worth every cent - Absolutely loving the new Green switches - it's taken the keyboard right up there with the best !

Also recommend having a look at the Corsair K70 Lux RBG - Great keyboard all round

Take a look at Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro. They have in different sizes, with RGB, and use MX switches only (blue included as you asked for). Check their website for all models. Unfortunately, the price and what you want do not match. You either have to give up on RGB or mechanical switches.
