Ryzen Ram

Hello, so i want to build my pc in the near future, but i came across a concern/problem.

Many people say you need Ram of the QVL of your manufacturer and the one i wanted to buy isnt there.

Parts:

Ryzen 3 1300x

Asrock Ab350m pro4

Msi rx 560 aero itx 4gb OC

Corsair Cx450

Sharkoon vs4-w

and my Ram is:

Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 1x8gb @2666mhz https://www.wootware.co.za/crucial-bls8g4d26bfsc-ballistix-sport-lt-white-8gb-1x8gb-2666mhz-ddr4-cl16-1-2v-desktop-memory.html (not the actual place i buy it).

Can i still run that Ram on my Ryzen 3 1300x? or do i have to contact Asrock for that?

They only way you can guarantee that your ram will work with Ryzen is if its on the QVL list. Otherwise youre rolling the dice a bit and taking a small gamble.

That RAM is good with Ryzen and also overclocks on most boards to 3000 or 3200 Mhz. You'll be fine with that.

Yeah the memory will work, people worry the wrong way, the motherboard is more important, bad BIOS like MSi's are harder to get RAM to work on their advertised frequencies, but you got a good motherboard on that regard so that Crucial stick should work flawlessly.

Same here. There are sometimes sales where it's available for about $160 for 16 Gb.Still way too expensive but, compared to how much is being charged for 3000 or 3200 MHz kits, still cheaper. Also the Mushkin Redline series 2666 RAM at the moment, though I don't know how good that is for overclocking,

Asrock will just tell you to get what's on the QVL most of the time. That RAM is fine. Check the reviews on somewhere like Amazon and see for yourself. I have this RAM and it overclocks to 3000 on a B350 board and I've had no issues with it at all. Not that's just me but there are plenty of others with the same story.

In the long run ram is ram. "For Ryzen" kits just tips odds in your favor, but bios updates made this less of a must have.
