GTX 1080 (or even the ti for $700) from EVGA

1080 ti. If you really want 4k gaming, and use highest settings possible for your desired 60 fps Lock, you really do want a 1080 ti. it's like 25-40% faster than a single 1080, second strongest card.

If that's too expensive for you, GTX 1080 is the way to go. Or Vega 64, if you get a GOOD price (It should NOT cost more than a GTX 1080) as a Custom model, and your Monitor has Freesync, i would go with that instead (freesync / G-Sync does make a huge difference, if you don't have stable fps).

There is a simple Rule for 4k Gaming: You can't have enough GPU performance. period.

No matter what, you can bring everything down to it's knees. You just need to use the right settings ;-)

Looking for a new single card for 4k gaming and vr. These 290 in xfire are getting long in the tooth. What is a good card for around $600 USD?

u need a 1080 ti for 4k, or wait a year til the next ti if u can.

id say, look around for another 150 USD and get the 1080ti

edit: more like 120 usd really, the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Black Edition  is 720 USD on their website.

I wouldn't pay 720 specifically for a black edition, that's where the worst chips go, regular SC is 730.

Evidence? It is a reference PCB. All the cards oc the same, and the chip shouldn't matter in that case.

nice! spend a little more and get the 1080ti, you will not regret it!

Reason why I mentioned the TV is because I don't know if the 1080 ti has the correct hdmi version for 60fps @4k. I have to use a powercolor active minidp to hdmi to achieve this on the 290s. Sometimes I have to unplug then plug my hdmi into my avr to get a picture or correct rez.

Can someone point me to a good ti at a good price USD?

Seeing all the ftw, fe, black, blahblahblah editions make my head spinO.o

Pretty sure they all have HDMI 2.0b which is capable of 4K@50/60.

If you scroll down on EVGAs site on each card, there's a section called features it should be listed on all of them

basically, if you are going to watercool go with a founders edition, if not, any other card will do.

The bigger the cooler, the better the card overclocks, (GPU boost 3.0 automatic overclock)

Im sure they all perform within small margins of each other.

the best deal is probably the sc2 hybrid for 790 if you see one, they keep going out of stock at that price and u get an AIO for 60dollars more than the worst cards. i can't push the card past 65C if i tried.
