Upgrading from a 3570k to an 8600k questions...

I'm looking to upgrade from an 3570K to an 8600k as I feel my setup is somewhat dated for games like Battlefield One. I recently acquired a 1070 and in many games, I feel my CPU usage is hindering my GPU performance.

My current setup is as follows:

i5 3570k @ 4.0ghz

8gb DDR3 RAM

EVGA 1070 SC

500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD

Asus VS248H-P @ 1080p 60hz

I've also considered upgrading my monitor from a 1080p @60hz to a Gsync 1440p @ 165hz display...

To you guys, what would make the biggest difference in gaming. Upgrading the monitor or upgrading the CPU, Motherboard, and RAM. These both come in at relatively the same price.

Thanks

the rig update. There is no reason to get a new monitor if you are not able to output the needed refresh rate to make use of it. You will see an instant increase in performance from the new parts in your system

I would go with an i5 8600k to cut the price a little and then start saving up for that g-sync monitor.

I'd get the monitor first. You have Gsync so it's ok to not reach frame rates that high. Then upgrade your CPU to an 8700 since its performance is similar to an overclocked 8600k, but no need to worry about overclocking or use an expensive cooler. The last will be the graphics card since you will need to turn down settings to reach high frame rates at 1440p.

Thanks for the insight guys. I think I’ll go ahead with the upgrade. Here’s what’s in my cart at the moment:
