Outside the case, NIC, PSU, overkill motherboard and nvme SSD.

Its pretty decent. IMO the RAM is sub par for a high end build. (Not the amount, but the quality.)

Power supply is not a smart choice, even an 800w will be overkill and there’s no need for Platinum.

The rest of the build seems fine. You could of course make some cuts and have the same performance. I would ask the client if they would like to make some cuts and then try go for 1080ti SLI

(edited in the SLI I forgot )

That's an F in the profile pic

Poor quality PSU.

TERRIBLE cpu cooler. NH-D15 or 240mm AIO for a 8700k.

Eh, doesn't seem that over the top to me, seems pretty fitting. Though the PSU is definitely overkill and the network card is redundant. What exactly do you see here that's that overkill?

My roommate is currently putting together a build with an 8700k, 1080ti (soon to be twinned), 480GB PM953, 1TB PM953, 2 8TB HDDs. It's not really overkill either, aside from the possibility of SLI :P

As for you suggestion I fully disagree with the PSU and cooler. I also think if someone wants to go for 6TB of space there are likely reasons. Who are we to say they don't need that much space?
