While no announcement was made Gigabyte went on and published on its website details on two custom-cooled and factory-overlocked graphics cards powered by AMD's Hawaii GPU, the GV-R929XOC-4GD (Radeon R9 290X) and GV-R929OC-4GD (Radeon R9 290).

Pictured below, both cards come equipped with the dual-slot WindForce 3X 450W cooling solution (three fans, 6 mm and 8 mm heatpipes), and feature a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface, a GPU clock of 1040 MHz (the stock R9 290X/290 go up to 1000/947 MHz), a 512-bit memory interface, 4 GB of GDDR5 VRAM @ 5000 MHz, and dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. The cards' prices are still unknown.

if this runs as cool as i expect it too, i might get one, got a windforce 7970 going in an itx build, but would rather this as its going to be pushing either 2560x1080p or 3440x1440p

Need to see some temp benchmarks.

Otherwise, what a sexy card. I'm guessing this is the new metal design rather than the plastic one on older generations.

Nice, I have a friend who is waiting for this card.  I am now going to sit on Newegg.com for the next 3 weeks waiting for it for him.  He said he will pay me an extra $100 to buy it for him lol!

I agree that R9 290 and the R9 290X runs really hot on Uber mod and on regular I guess it is still the best performing card for the market and it double-crosses the GTX 780. Because of its hot temps the card performs bad.. but if you put a solid cooler, then it might be OK!

But here's the story... Gigabyte is releasing their Windforce X3 450w cooler to the R9 290 and the 290X .. and the performance is better.

9413_m.jpg

This will be really epic and I hope to see future benchmarks!

It is using a Display port, 2 times DVI and an HDMI port.. I hope you'll buy it! Or don't :)

That cooler is too good, It won't be able to hit the 95C required for best efficiency of the Power-phases, expect issues with the clock changes

no dvi-i? Fml
