Dual monitor Problems

Hey there,

I have just bought a acer 4k monitor and was trying to do a dual monitor setup with my old lg 1080p monitor.

I am using a displayport cable for the 4k and a hdmi for 1080p and only the 1080p monitor seems to work when i go to do dual screen as well as the fact i receive major mouse lag and it also make the 4k monitor the main monitor so every time i open a window to change any thing i cant see it.

I was thinking i might need 2 display ports cables but i have only 1 slot and when i try using just the 4k monitor its locked at 30ps when using the hdmi as the display port seems not to be working.

I am using a rx 580 gpu it thats any help

That HDMI might be an older one since that is the limit of some at 4K.

Is Windows detecting both screens when you have both connected?

Can you connect the LG monitor using the displayport cable? The DP cable might not be working.

That might be the solution. But just to confirm something, were you using the DisplayPort cable that came with the 4K monitor?

That cable should work fine, especially out of the box. I think it might be something with AMD graphics tool. I have an NVIDIA card so I don't know much about AMD GPU's.

I know you can't see anything when you have both connected, but at least try to see if you can get to the display options to see if you can change anything.

Also, if you are going to get a DVI cable, make sure it is the one compatible with your monitor. I believe you would need a Dual Link DVI cable, but check with your monitor.
