Best graphic card for..?

bwchoncq24

Obviously new to this but,

I have a 760GMA-P24(fx) with an AMD fx-8350 and looking to upgrade a graphic card. Any recommendation on which one (no budget)?

If we're talking brand new cards, I think a GTX 1060 6 GB will do nicely. I'd also try overclocking that FX 8350 to 4.2 GHz or higher, if you can.

I'm using a 1050 TI and I'm getting solid performance out of my FX-8350. I also though have a better motherboard with a solid AIO water cooler hooked up to it and currently have it overclocked to 4.5, and I'll probably try for 4.7 or 4.8 tomorrow since temps are not a problem.

Resolution?

What will you do with it?

Also, with an unlimited budget, you might as well upgrade your cpu too

What's your current GPU and what is your monitor set up?

I would also consider the 1060 3GB rather than the 6GB

Please never buy a 3GB 1060 over a 6GB or RX 570/580, the VRAM is too limiting for it's price. Although I think all the $199 580s already sold out.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yeah from what I've heard no more $199 580s, the ones I've seen on Amazon right now are like $250-$280 while the 1060 3Gb is sitting at $202 and the 1060 6GB is sitting at $280

Currently I have it as 3.5Ghz with 16GB RAM.

I have a LG 34UC88‑B ‑ 34" Curved IPS LED Monitor that I use for work, some gaming (least) and some video editing.

It'd be more like $1000 for a CPU and GPU upgrade, but you should probably get a Ryzen 5 1600 when you get a chance

An RX 580 would be able to drive that display in light games alright, or with the render scale turned down, they're about $250 right now.

You'd want a 1080 otherwise to drive it more properly, or just OC a 1070ti

No.  You'd need a new motherboard as well.

But as for my wifes 8350 fx setup, she has a RX 480 8GB and has no issues with hers at all.  Unfortunately hers is a reference design so its a bit louder but its not unbearable.
