780 ti won't come out of Maximus VI Formula.

BrokeAFKid

I bought a PC and I'm trying to trouble shoot it by replacing the gpu but the card won't come out. When I press down on the clip on my old motherboard the card (r9 270 also twin frozr) releases easily and directly comes up a bit. Not the case with this one. Am I missing something?

Just checking, but you have actually removed the screw/thumbscrew that's holding in the card to the case by the rear I/O? :D

cards get stuck sometimes; I had this issue constantly with my old Z97s krait

rather rashly, I just took a screwdriver and applied crazy force to the PCI slot lock and pulled, and it eventually came out.

if you have a chopstick or similar, the method will probably work, and since you have a Formula board, the 'armor' will protect against accidental motherboard holes

Sorry guys I am offically retarded. Didn't realize the nzxt s340 had another thing you have to remove prior to installing/ taking out gpus lmao. Not the thumb screws but an extra metal plate next to them.

You might have to hold the locking latch down, my motherboard will refuse to let go if a GPU unless I do that.

It's okay, it took me half an hour to figure out how to get the PSU dust cover off on that case :D I'm not used to having to push down to release it
