I'd say the 1080 Ti is the only one that'd make sense going i7 8700k for high end gaming, but the i5 8600k will still get more than great performance, in fact more than what you'd get with the i7 7700k just a month ago.

sure, maybe not for 1080p but as a build it makes some sense, a 8700K would be a more sensible match if you ask me but the 8600K will be performing great anyway

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

An 8600K is probably the cheapest CPU I'd be cozy with doing 240Hz 1080P if that's your thing. If you're doing some other resolution/refresh rate then you should let us know.
