how to lower resolution at boot up Windows 8

So I was at my friend's house he was having a problem with his PC and he was using PC at low resolution so I increase the resolution at max and first it gave black screen than it displays error "this video mode is not supported" or something like this, I try restarting the PC and pressing F8 at boot It didn't work. Now he can't even use his PC because of me. I very sad about it. If someone knows how to solve this problem please help.

You have to get into safe mode, and reset the video resolution. It may take multiple F8 presses before the menu pops up, depending on the OS he has. IIRC Win10 uses a different key combination

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.
