I am planing to build a gaming computer. It will have a GTX 1080ti and will be housed in a Masterbox 5 pro RGB. I looked at the case and I think I saw a vertical PCI slot. I wanted to confirm that and if that is one, do I need to buy a bracket to support it or can it support itself? If it needs one what one should I get?

That is NOT a vertical PCIe card bracket.

If you want to vertically mount a GPU what you require is the vertical GPU adapter that fits in the current PCI-E opening.

I checked the case and it only has 6 PCI slots but the vertical GPU adapter needs 7. Is there any other GPU adapter you could recommend or is there anything else I could do.

nvm I read it incorrectly

You are mistaken, ATX boards have a minimum of 7 expansion slots. From the back it doesnt look like a normal PCI slot, but it is. You can tell by looking at the side and seeing it has  a thumb screw

What that case cost plus the add on kit they stick you with you can buy a different case like http://www.thermaltake.com/Chassis/Full_Tower_/View/C_00003130/View_71_Tempered_Glass_RGB_Edition/design.htm

Or http://www.lian-li.com/alpha-550/?preview=true

Or thumb around themaltake they off many cases with vertical mounted gpu.But keep this in mind if your air cooling that gpu most vertical mounted gpus are kinda close to the side so air flow can be a problem. If its going to be water cooled its no problem and gives you something to look at.
