m.2 ssd on Z97

Hello i have a question

would i get problems if i upgrade: 4770k with 290x on motherboard Asus Maximus VII hero(z97) to a 1080ti OC from strix and i would add m.2 ssd (since it has a slot on a mobo) from samsung ( 960 evo 500gb)

Would there be any problems bottlenecking etc...

Why do you need an NVMe ssd? A sata one would probably be fine.

I doubt you will notice a difference, I would save the money and spend it on something else nice.

When it comes to boot times and app launch times the difference is pretty small. At most you might see a 10% speed up from an NVMe ssd compared to a decent sata one.

 

Your money would be better used to get a 500+250gb ssd.

Yeah I'm running a M.2 SSD on Redstone and its been awesome, I didn't bother with a NVMe one as IIRC the Z97 the M.2 is sata bound not PCIe bound so on those chipsets you'll never get top speeds anyways so yeah grab a m.2 SSD and you good to go.
