I use it with my 970 and it can be flaky. Not to mention that Shadowplay is stupidly buggy even with a good card. You might be better served by taking a mirrored HDMI out of your computer and using an Elgato Cam Link to record on a laptop or separate computer.

Sorry xD

Add an HDMI output as if you were going to add a 2nd monitor, then get an Elgato Cam Link (a cheap capture card), plugged into another computer/laptop.

Choose mirroring in on the computer you want to play on by hitting windows+p so that the Cam Link receives the same video signal your monitor does.

Use an external capture device that mirrors the game to both your monitor and the external PC that captures it.

Well, if you're quick enough, you can get one for "free" :P

I have to admit that I'm sponsored by Elgato, so I got 2 for free... but they are worth it!!

Hah I believe you. I have no need for external capture. All I capture are old PCs, which I can do fine with my Epiphan VGA2USB lol. Was mega cheap on eBay a while back.

CPU for the encoding, but having a better GPU will help with frames and take a load off the CPU, allowing more freedom for the CPU to encode the recording.

The reason it probably sucked before is that your Pentium G630 is old and unable to encode well. Your current CPU should be okay.
