Hello everyone

I just want to know a good MB for am3. (If it is gaming, better)

Thanks and have nice day.

You'll be hard pressed to find any new AM3+ boards right now. But in general, anything with a 990FX chipset.

My ASUS 970 gaming served me pretty well for the past 3 or 4 years. I've since upgraded but the board is still going strong.

I'm mess up with this PC. What would you recommend me to do? I bought it 2 RAM sticks (Hyper X 16GB`s) two months ago and I have a more than year with this setup (FX 8370 x GTX 980 Ti G1). My actual MB (MSI 970 Gaming) has been giving me problems, like random reboots, slow memory usage, high temps even when is open air. So I don´t know what to do, move to Ryzen or stick with this one more year with a new am3 MB.

I really would appreciate some guidance if it is possible.

PS:If I´m posting in the wrong topic, sorry and tell me where I can post this. Thanks.

Switch platforms. No reason to sink more money into a platform that is heavily holding back your gpu. Now you could go with used Intel if you want to keep your ram or you could even go with ryzen or a newer gen Intel like coffelake. The only issue is that would require buying ddr4 ram which is kinda pricy right now. Also part of me is wondering if the ram you bought 2 months ago is the issue. Did the issues arise around the same time you bought the ram?

I bought the Hyper X Fury 16 GB, and the issue increased a little after updating the RAM (it happened with previous modules anyways).

My budged is 600 bucks and my main focus is home/gaming PC.

Do not buy into the FX platform go find a used sandy-bridge-Haswell based board+CPU if you already have DDR3 memory

We cant help you find all the parts linustechtips has issues posting direct links to ebay posts but i highly recommend NOT buying into the FX platform

The prices of Haswell/-E CPU's are close to a Ryzen 5 CPU. I think is better to upgrade them as for the prices are almost equal, the only thing that was holding me was the Hyper X RAM.

I have a 980 TI G1 and don't think replacing it for a while. Any recommendations for MB + CPU + DDR4 RAM. My budged is 300 to 600 bucks limit.

I recently updated my FX-8350 with the Asus TUF Sabertooth r3.0. I LOVE this board. I had never been able to get a good overclock on the M5a99fx, but with the TUF I am running a 4.7ghz overclock every day with no issues and low voltage. I think upgrading an am3+ is a little pointless since you can get a Ryzen 3 or 5 and mobo combo for some pretty good prices. BUT if you really want to, I wouldn't do it with any other board then the TUF Sabertooth r3.0 unless you are on an extreme budget, then I'd probably go with a Crosshair V Formula-Z or 970 Pro Gaming.

 Current System: MoonLightRyzen

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700x @ 3.9ghz  Board: Asus ROG C6H  Ram: G.Skill TridentZ 32gb 3000mhz  Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic

GPU: Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 OC in SLI M.2: Samsung 960 Evo 250gb SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 512gb x2 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB and 2TB

PSU: Corsair RM850x White  Cooler: XSPC/Phanteks Custom Loop

Backup System: RedDragonV3.0

FX-8350 @ 4.7ghz, Asus TUF Sabertooth 990fx r3.0, MSI GTX 1060 6gb Gaming X, Crucial Balistix Tracer 32gb, M.2 Samsung 960 Evo 250,

Because of how many people upgraded their systems, you might be able to find a good deal on a used high-end 990FX board (something like an ASUS Crosshair V Forumula Z or whatever it competed against at the time).  Basically something beefy as hell with lots of vrm phases under big heatsinks.

But unless you can get the motherboard for REALLY CHEAP, you're much better off moving to a newer platform.  AM4 is wonderful, but DDR4 is obnoxiously expensive (basically expect to pay at least $120 for a 2x8 kit).  Considering that you've already got a few sticks of decent DDR3, it would be easier to transition to a 4th gen intel platform (or whatever is the newest you can get that will let you still rock DDR3).

SFF-ish:  Ryzen 5 1600X, Asrock AB350M Pro4, 16GB Corsair LPX 3200, Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro -75mV, 512gb Plextor Nvme m.2, 512gb Sandisk SATA m.2, Cryorig H7, stuffed into an Inwin 301 with rgb front panel mod.  LG27UD58.

Aging Workhorse:  Phenom II X6 1090T Black (4GHz #Yolo), 16GB Corsair XMS 1333, RX 470 Red Devil 4gb (Sold for $330 to Cryptominers), HD6850 1gb, Hilariously overkill Asus Crosshair V, 240gb Sandisk SSD Plus, 4TB's worth of mechanical drives, and a bunch of water/glycol.  Coming soon:  Bykski CPU block, whatever cheap Polaris 10 GPU I can get once miners start unloading them.

MintyFreshMedia:  Thinkserver TS130 with i3-3220, 4gb ecc ram, 120GB Toshiba/OCZ SSD booting Linux Mint XFCE, 2TB Hitachi Ultrastar.  In Progress:  3D printed drive mounts, 4 2TB ultrastars in RAID 5.

My Asus M5a97 evo has treated me well for 7 years now.

But if your budget is $600, why not just do a Ryzen 1600 upgrade? Getting a Newegg combo with that, a x370 chipset board, and 16GB ddr4 is around $500 with the 1700 combos around $600 (but most of the combos at this level are the "x" variants so you'd have to factor in a cooler if you just have the trash stock FX cooler.)
