5 years staying on 60 fps

-Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks).

Mention me if you want to summon me sooner or later

He's joking (in a sence) but it will last as long as you want, as long as you treat it well (aka don't throw it across the room then promptly overvolt it to death), but you mean in the sense of gaming.  In that light, the card will probably be fine at 1080p for more than 4-8 years, depending on the games and the cpu.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

My current rig:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

Ram: 1x16gb DDR4, 2x8gb DDR4

Storage: 1tb nvme ssd

GPU: gtx 3080

Monitor: 23.8" Dell S2417DG 144hz g-sync 1440p + 27" Acer S271HL 60 Hz 1080p

Keyboard: ducky one I | I SF

Mouse: gpro wireless | glorious model o2 wireless

Sound : beyerdynamic 1990 pro | Monoprice liquid spark (amp) + topping d10 (dac)

Soooo, you're saying I shouldn't do that? o.O

Guess I'm not going to play "Catch the overvolted GTX 1080" tonight...

It depends on your needs. If you stay at 1080 60fps it will last a good 3 years, maybe more. If you get a 1440p or 144hz monitor in the future, it will become too weak way quicker.

For 1080P gaming a 650Ti Boost lasted until 4 months back for my brother.

He could have kept it, but it was causing frame drops here and there.

We bought that card around 2013, so it lasted a solid 4 years.

Considering that was a lower end card, I'd say expect about 5 years of usage on your 1060.

He also happens to now have a 1060 6GB from ASUS.

Which I reckon will last him about 5 years too. He also plays at 60Hertz 1080P. (But uses dual monitors)

When the PC is acting up haunted,

who ya gonna call?

*Terrible joke I know*

It depends on whether you will be playing the same games. Newer games will be more demanding and will utilize newer technology that you graphics card will not manage that well. Just remember how it was with tessellation in the ATI 5870 and GTX 480 era and how much better it was after that. That 1060 you have now is realistically good for a about 1, maybe 2 years, but that will be pushing. After that I would be looking for an upgrade. The good thing is that in a year you could by a used GTX 1080 for half of its original retail price.
