Help me pick [on a budget]

AcidBees

I want to start streaming, but, money is a problem. I'm on a budget of approx. 400$(300€) and have limited options. Is it better to get a gen 2 i7 or to get a higher generation i5 or i3? I'm from Bosnia and DIY resources are quite limited. Thanks.

older i7 is better than newer lowerend. intel CPUs have changed very little on general compute since gen 2 so it's essentially the same all the way to kaby lake

    MSI B350M mortar arctic
  • RAM

If you can snag an old i7 for a good price, you'd probably do ok.

Gaming PCs:
Intel i7 4790k, EVGA GTX 980ti, NZXT H440
Intel i5 7600k, Asus GTX 970 DC Mini, Silverstone SG13B
HTPC: AMD Phenom II X6 1045t, EVGA GTX 770 FTW, Fractal Node 604

Okay, so the i7 is 2600, and the i5 I had my eye on is 3470. I also found an i7 4790K prebuilt with a gtx 970 and 16 gigs of ddr3 vengeance for 700$. Should I hold my horses and save up for that one or just go with this and spend the money elsewhere?

That built with a 4790k is a pretty solid deal
If you can save up that much before someone buys it, definitely go with that one.
