I love it when they don't specify which NIC it is compared to. Probably some 10 Mbit piece of crap.

I'm extremely sceptical about the NIC, it doesn't say how it is better, or to what it is compared....

edit: that graph is the most b*llsh*t thing I've ever seen, sense was not made there.

Every time I see "Fata1ity" stamped on something, I disregard it as a sub-tier product. Am I the only one?

Also, I'll take my Intel NIC over the overhyped "Killer NIC" any day.

Killer Pro is old school. Now is Gigabit intel/qualcomm. Ping always stays 0-10ms

Notes on the Killer 2200 NIC in a guru3d review of another motherboard:

In an earlier review we did perform some manual tests. Upload performance on our 120/10 MBit/s internet connection for example:

  • Upload 9.4 Mbit/s over Intel NIC
  • Upload 9.4Mbit/s over Killer NIC
  • Download 122.2 Mbit/s over Intel NIC
  • Download 122.1 Mbit/s over Killer NIC

Ping times then, from the Netherlands towards the USA we are pinging comcast

  • ~100ms on the Intel NIC
  • ~100ms on the Killer NIC

So we can't see the performance benefit on our end but it really is one of the best NICs available on the market, and here you got it integrated into the motherboard, that is a huge plus. So yes admittedly, it is a lovely solution and the software suite is just grand AND you can shape network traffic on your PC and monitor it. Which is just great stuff.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_z87_xpower_review,8.html

So basically is the same as the Intel NIC tested, but the software it comes with is very good.

The Intel/AMD CPU will suffice the ethernet with it's modern speed. Throw bck the killer NIC back to 2006.
