intel Xeon Gold 5222

I have two Intel Xeon Gold 5222 CPUs from an old server, along with a lot of SSD storage and ECC RAM, but I don't know which motherboard to buy. Some motherboards cost around 60 bucks and seem suspicious, while others cost over a grand. Could someone help guide me in the right direction? I just need a dual-socket motherboard.

Ebay and a lot of places have those CPUs going for $500+

I would definitely try to sell them, even if OP gets $500 for the pair that's still good money to put to something better for desktop usage.

Do you have a usecase for them?

Else sell them and buy a system designed for what you need since they fetch a nice bit of cash still

Those are essentially i7-7700s. Unless you have a very specific usecase you will have much better luck just flipping them rather than trying to hunt down a functioning mobo that supports them
