As I am currently attempting to get 100% completion for Assassins Creed Black Flag (starting to get a little bored if I'm honest) I am wondering what makes others go for 100% completion?

Also what games have you got 100% in?

I do it because I like the Achievement score / Trophies.

On PC, I couldn't care less.

I never go for 100%

I do side quests when I feel like it while doing the story.

As soon as I finish the store, game over, I'm not playing anymore.

Only exception would be if I know of a certain side quest with a interesting story of sorts of the side quest links into the story.

I never go for 100%. Especially GTA. I just do the first mission, install a simple trainer and go nuts on multiplayer and mod it with car textures and such.

I wanted to, but those random chests on tiny islands changed my mind. I did all of the treasure maps, QR codes, hacked animus(es)/animi?, mayan stelea....then finished the story.

I try to go for 100% in all games i play mainly because i'm a completionist at heart...though sometimes i just can't do certain achievements or things for the 100% because either they're too luck based or just ridiculously hard (though i guess that's the point of an achievement) and sometimes achievements that just take way too much time to achieve and aren't worth the effort.

I have managed to complete a few games to 100% completion such as Heavy Rain, Burnout Paradise, Portal, Mirror's Edge, Faerie Solitaire, Antichamber, Limbo, Rogue Legacy, Shank, DLC quest and technically Payday 2 but they keep adding in new achievements so i 100%'d the game twice now but need to do it a 3rd time >.>

If you have played any of the Lego games and not gotten 100%, I don't know why you played them. Most of the best parts of those games come from trying to complete 100%. I don't care if I am 30, those games are the shhh.

I did 100% in Arkham Asylum. Got all steam achievements as well as all ingame stuff. Nothing else yet though. I did it because it wasn't hard, I really liked the game and I wanted to have at least one game maxed out on steam.

I got the platinum trophy for Skyrim on PS3. The trophies you had to get weren't too ridiculous, and I had a lot of fun playing it.

I sometimes don't even finish the story. BUT... Saints Row 2 is a game that I'm addicted to. I have so far played 200+ hours of it. + - 125 hours is on one savefile. Modding cars, using funny cheats, enjoying all the bugs, playing it CO-OP with a friend - those are the things that make it unresistable for me personally. But I am one of the lucky ones, it always works on my PC.

I like to think that I can actually get 100% on a lot of games but it just takes way too long. My closest game is portal 2 and I do actually want to get all achievements I just gotta get some time with some friends to get the last couple co-op achievements. I am also considering completing the binding of isaac because i really like that game but i feel that game hates me because i always get horrible items so i never get that far in the game. Other than that there isn't a lot that I want to complete though I am going to hunt achievements on some games that I have on steam but others I can't stand to do multiple playthroughs for them all like in borderlands

Oblivion is really the only game I've ever done EVERYTHING on. Not counting mods, of course. Skyrim too if you don't count the minor quests. The only other game I've come close to 100% is Twilight Princess on the Wii. I think I was only missing 1 or 2 Pieces of Heart.

There was a brief time that I attempted to go back and complete a bunch of old games from my Xbox 360 library, but I quickly realized with how busy and lazy I am that it was an utterly fruitless effort. I ended up selling a lot of games that were either unopened or only had a handful of hours on them...
