Dell UltraSharp U2518D for casual gaming and photo editing?

Hip

Hey guys,

I've seen that Dell released it's new Ultrasharp monitor called u2518d.

The specs seem to be pretty good imo.

25"

2560x1440 Resolutiion on 60 Hz

8ms (5ms) IPS Panel

350 cd/m²

And even HDR?!

Here are all specs

Price 360 Euro

So my question is,

can this monitor be any good for casual gaming, for Battlefield 1 and photo editing with it's built in HDR?

Is my rig even good enough?

My graphics card is GTX 1060

Would you maybe even advice me to buy some different model for that money?

Thank you in advance!

It has "Dell HDR" which basically means it's a normal monitor.

It's essentially the same as the U2515H with one HDMI port instead of two, if it's the same price then sure but if the U2515H is available for cheaper I'd just go for that.

Well that's disappointing about this HDR.

I thought it's the same as with TV's :( .

Thank you!

Would you recommend another monitor instead? I forgot to ask ^^

I'm also planning on buying a new display.

I was eyeing for the dell u2515h but it's not available anymore in my local neighborhood. so it would be awesome if I could find alternatives in here >:)

I play with a 1060 at 1440p. It’s great for esports. I get about 60fps in TW3 medium settings. It’s definitely capable but you won’t be playing at max settings. I think it’s worth getting a nice monitor now that you can keep for a while since you’ll just upgrade GPU later.

That's an F in the profile pic

Hi! Did you buy it? I'm opting for U2518D too, also for casual gaming.

Nope, you can get the iiyama ProLite XUB2792QSU-B1 instead. A bit cheaper and the same panel as I know.
