What was your first cpu?

My first was an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ and an ATI HD 4850. Got me through high school and was able to run Crysis on medium-high settings.

Looking back I should have saved up for the Core 2 Duo E8500 (or E8600) that was my first choice, but I was ignorant and I wanted to build the rig.

A couple years later I retired this venerable rig in favor of a new one featuring a 2600K and a GTX 580.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. My first system had an i7 3770 paired with a GeForce GTX 560Ti. Ran that combo for a while until I upgraded to a GTX 760. Currently running an i9 7900X paired with 2 1080's

Quote me in replies so I see them.

My 1st computer was based on the 6502 processor @ ~1 MHZ, I am not sure what was the graphics....it was an Atari 800 XL.

My 1st IBM compatible PC was based on 80386 DX 33 MHz processor, and the graphics card was I think an old ISA compatible VGA or SVGA card or something like that!

My 1st ever PC game was Legend of the Zyca followed by the Prince of Persia...

Played Warcraft Orcs vs Humans pretty good ;)

I have a cue light I can use to show you when I’m joking, if you like.
