will i still be able to use the same motherboard with the new CPU, and what PSU would you suggest for the build? Thanks

I'll be honest with you - get 2400mhz ram as you're overpaying imo. As to the PSU I'll suggest you the EVGA G2 Supernova or EVGA G3 Supernova - both are perfect, solid and not overpriced. As to the CPU - do not worry about Coffee Lake mate! Because: a) it'll bring max 15% more performance, but only on paper not in games b) it will cost probably more then 15% premium c) mobo availability and prices at start will be terrible d) early adopters have steep way to pave with bugs e) your GPU of choice won't give noticeable difference in games with Coffee Lake f) i7 7700k will handle all graphics cards in games even after Volta is released g) you'll have to wait at least 2-3 months to get your hands on Coffee Lake - do you want to stay on your laptop for so long?

So i sold my desktop early last year in favor of a laptop. i know i know. So ive decided to go back to a desktop and have just been putting a build together, from Overclockers.co.uk.

99.9% of the time it will be for gaming this build ok or should i swap some parts, wait form some new stuff? any advice is appreciated.

Possible announcement and partial specs, but probably not launch

Most likely. Build some real buzz before release

Well it will use DDR4, thats 99.99999% assured, and unless youre waiting for Volta, the GPU market isnt changing. PSu's are still where theyre at, cpu coolers, HDD's ,SSD's, sexy tempered glass cases, I mean theres so much you could spend money on in the mean time ;)

Already got the 1080 Ti, running on 1155 so no support for a Samsung 960 Pro stick.

Can't upgrade RAM since i'm still running DDR3.

Bit useless to buy a PSU or Case since its a new build. Old computer will be given to someone.

I'm feeling a bit stuck, oh and i thought 2 already buy 2 monitors and the Asus (still has to be released) later. But i'm kinda scared they don't align correctly/

So decided to buy them all at once.

Rumors are pointing to 2-3 weeks from now. I highly suggest you wait.

For the build itself, I think you should drop the CPU cooler to something like a cryorig h7 and use the money saved to get a GTX 1080

Also I would get a lower wattage but higher quality psu as 750w is just overkill.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
