Can someone catch me up please. Whats going on with office?

I've been so busy with work and life commitments, I miss a lot Ltt's videos. I watched all the videos when they moved into the office, But what is actually going on now. I assumed they just rented the unit next door for storage, but they appear to be doing more than that. Whats going on? 

Bonus question; Where is Luke? Not seen him in ages and I like his presenting style.

Luke is working on floatplane, he won't be making LTT videos anymore unless it's something he is really interested in.

Aww that's a shame. So does he host the exclusive videos then or is he entirely behind the scenes then? I hope he still takes part in Scrap Yard wars at least.

Just behind the scenes, unless there's a video he wants to do, he can basically choose to do whatever he wants.

I don't think they're made more than one or two exlusive videos on floatplane, and they are more just vlog style content.

He will probably still do stuff like scrapyard wars, retro gaming stuff, etc.

Thats a shame, but at least he has a choice which is cool for him. So whats going on with office? I feel like LTT has expanded incredibly quickly in the last year or two.

I think the big tall part of the warehouse where there just used to be sets and storage got redone so they have more office space and storage, so they went from 1 tall area to a two floor area.

Not sure about the second building though.

It more like 2/3 of space if 2-story office/warehouse space and 1/3 is sets. They still need high ceiling for green screen and lights.

they built a mezzanine and hired a Russian. 

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I think he was with ncix or something, probably not random. Hiring random people from other countries like Dennis is complicated and risky. At least they knew for sure Ivan was not terrible.

Ivan has been a member of the NCIX team for a long time. Linus knew and worked with him before.

 

Also, given how long Ivan has been a member of NCIX, he probably has his Canadian Permanent Residence status already, thus making hiring him no different (or little different) from hiring a Canadian Citizen.

 

Dennis isn't (wasn't?) a resident, thus hiring him was a hugely different and more complicated process.

 

Of course, I'm simply guessing that Ivan is a permanent resident. I could be wrong.
