PSU and SLI

A friend of mine as found an msi gtx 760 2GB selling for around 80€ and since I have already an asus gtx 760 2GB I don't know if my power supply is enough to running both in SLI

I have an EVGA 650W G1,probably it's too low (already done some researches,I'm just asking here for peace of mind)

Thanks in advice ~

it's enough, but i wouldn't SLI two GTX 760s together(or anything not high-end), the performance gain isn't worth it compared to the power consumption and heat. sell the 760 and get a better single gpu instead.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

It's not that easy to sell this card tbh, here no one is into computer that much and even so basically no one wants to buy it ,too old

Ebay then, tehre will be someone in EU that will buy it for reasonable price :)

edit: i just checked it looks like they are selling for around 100-120euros second hand in europe.

Edit edit: for 230 ou can have a 1060 3gb which is more powerfull and needs less power than 2x 760. But if you were willing to upgrade the PSU

then go for 1060 6gb/480 8gb /580 8gb you should be able to get one of those under 260-300euros pretty easily

Only in Slovakia i found like 8x 1060 8gb, 5x 480 8gb and one 570 under 300euros. The cheapest was 259e for a 1060 8gb with 15 months of warranty left... So it should be pretty easy to do the same in italy :) After you sold the 760 ofcourse

With those cards it's bullshit.

They are just too old, have too little VRAM to be useful. With 2GiB VRAM you are limited by the size of the memory more than by the performance of the card these days.

Sell your card, add the 80€ and you are in the ballpark of an RX470/570 and 1060/6GB. That just makes much more sense than two ancient graphics cards.

And that's just one problem.

The other is that SLi is rarely supported these days and just does not work with many titles besides the mainstream AAA shooter thingy...

As for Doom@ Vulkan: Vulkan does not support two GPUs at the moment as far as I know, DX12 does but it has to be implemented by the softare manufacturer...

And 80€ for a 760 (aka 670) is just way too much. For 50 you could think about. But for that money + selling your card you can get something way way better...

Buttom Line:

SLI/CF only makes sense with the newest top of the line graphics cards.

In any other case it just makes more sense to sell the card and buy a single better one!

That's just dumb.

Because the 1060/3GiB is just garbage because of the limited VRAM. The absolute bare minimum these days should be 4GiB, if it can not be avoided.

If at all possible get an 8GiB card!

Oh and the 1060/3GiB also has less shaders than the 1060/6GiB. So save the money on this shit...

And the 1050ti isn't much faster than the GTX760 aka GTX670 (boost) he already has.

So that makes no sense.

And sadly, thanks to the Mining shit, the prices of useful graphics cards exploded...

Buttom Line:

Everything under the RX 470/570, prefably RX480/580 if at all possible 8GiB  and 1060/6GiB just does not make sense and isn't a real improvement...
