I'm also looking for the mother board to be red and black as I have that kind of setup. I've already confirmed a Gigabyte Windforce OC 1060 and the 1TB Barracuda HDD. I'm looking for an Intel i5 Quad Core, similar RAM to what I chose and what you all are saying that is compatible, Asus Aura on an Asus motherboard if that can work well. I'll do more research on the Corsair power supply to consider that. For a monitor I'd like to find one with both gaming and creative benefits as I also edit videos for classes and such. A case with the red and black look would also be nice if you guys can find one better than the one I found. Thanks for the help!

Is there a specific reason your wanting the intel i5? In terms of the price, for a couple dollars more you can get the ryzen 5 1600, which outperforms it on basically every level, and you have an upgrade path on the am4 socket. Higher clock speeds, can overclock, more cores, and even has more pci lanes to offer.

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-7400-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-1600/3886vs3919

can take a look at it here ^^^^^

you can find a b350 mobo for nearly same price as the i5 variant as well, so would make the ryzen a way better choice and the i5 kinda strange to pick unless you couldnt afford the minimal price differences.

Im building this for a friend's birthday and he kept on telling me to have NVIDIA and Intel only. No AMD. I myself would use a Ryzen 3 over an i5, but I was told not to do that for this project.
