Cheapest laptop to run PUBG at 1080p low/medium settings, 60 FPS

The GTX 1050 in your Legion Y520 should be capable of running it at those settings quite well.

Your Y520 with GTX 1050 in it should suffice to run at low/medium settings. Unless you're looking for an upgrade, the Acer Predator Helios 300 should be good (albeit it's the cheapest with GTX 1060 on Amazon right now)

If I recall, Malaysia has Acer Aspire 5 right? The MX 150 should be able to give about 40-50fps average on 1080p. If you want 60fps. I think he should get at least a GTX 1050.

Yes but I'm worried that the dual core ULV CPU will bottleneck

 

Also, isn't the laptop GTX 1050 a bit weaker than the desktop GTX 1050? If I remember correctly the mobile 1050TI is only on par with desktop 1050

i would say try to get at least 1050 ti, that would give you a fairly good gameplay on medium

Well if you plan on heavy gaming then yes, it makes more sense to get Quad-core version rather than ULV versions. On the GPU side, the Nvidia 10 series Pascal GPU's desktop and notebook counterparts are not significantly different. The performance difference between desktop and notebook counterparts of the Pascal GPUs is about 10% due to different clock speeds. So the 1050 Ti mobile is not really on par with Desktop 1050, in fact, The 1050 Ti mobile is marginally better than regular 1050 desktop version. If you're talking 1050 mobile vs desktop, there's actually around 15% difference (or more, but not heavily significant) in performance due to half ROPs difference (according to AnandTech)

Look around for any laptop with a GTX 1050.

 

There are a few in Malaysia, although predominantly the ASUS and MSI brands, although you can get a Core i5-powered Inspiron 7567. It's no Core i7 7700HQ but for games, the i5 7300HQ should still be plenty powerful.

My Pubg runs on an average of 60fps.

My settings,

Screen Scale: 90

Anti-Aliasing: Low

Post-Processing: Low

Shadows: Low

Texture: Medium

Effects: Low

Foliage: Low

View Distance: Medium

Motion Blur: Off

i would like to say nobody knows. LOL PUBG is probably one of the most poorly coded games for GPU scaling. If you make nice updates, pretty sure an MX150 can run it, but we will see. These battle royale games are notoriously unoptimized. (so benches from a while ago may not be reflective of the current state of the game, so look for more recent benchmarks)
