This sounds like too much work. what I do with new mobos is put them under a CPU and GPU burn-in test at 100% for a full week. My view is any motherboard VRMs that spent 168 hours under full-load are going to continue to work for awhile.聽

The problem is that capacitors are probably the most fragile thing on the VRMs and when they run over or around 100掳C daily (most cases with Gigabyte/MSI mobos) They won't hold up

Cite your claims regarding the capacitors, please. Also, fix your test for the dark theme; select all the text, go to text color, and select 'Automatic'.

I ended up forking up the extra $60 to go from the Asus Prime B50 Plus to the Prim X370 Pro for a R7 1700. I saw someone else having successful OCing a 1700 on the Plus, but it wasn't super just how stress tested it was, so I decided to play it safer than regretting not spending a little more based on discussions on threads here. Placed my order yesterday and ought to get it next week. Going to run stock cooler while I figure out what I ought to do there, but that's for another thread.

TweakTown's motherboard reviews include some of the most in-depth circuit analysis. So, I'll suggest putting this resource in the post as well.

Put it in the "Useful Links" on the bottom

Yeah, you should be good ocing it, i would get something like H100i for some hardcore overclocking at ~1.4V

TweakTown also did an AM4 buyer guide of their own. It should complement your guide nicely. ;)

"Memory compatibility aka ability to run most memory chips at least 2933MHz since thats the speed that anyone with a brain would go for with Ryzen"

basically a big f*uck you to ryzen 3 users (and pretty much everyone), it's silly how users need to make up for the architectural flaws by buying fast ram, it's even sillier when people say "reeeee Zen is so advanced that it finally makes fast ram useful unlike intel's architectures" lol no it makes fast ram useful because it's a shittier architecture.

From my experience they aren't-even with the electrolytic caps used on the cheapest (or oldest) motherboards. Unless of course they are rated for only 85oC, in which case your asking for a motherboard failure ASAP.

This should have better caps but still, most of them are rated at 125掳C

I have a HiFi system at home, there are solid caps and after few years of working in cabinet with ambient of around 50掳C, the silicon in mosfets will hold up, caps not
