I want to build a PC to run Titanfall 2 at 1080p 60fps for as little as possible. Where should i start? Im thinking some quad core intel clocked close to 4 GHz, but am stumped on the rest

Its very hard to make a pc with the specified budget as cheap, some people think cheap is 500, others think its 300, and cutting corners isnt always that beneficial

I saw above 50% usage MANY times on my Quadcore so that would 100% a dualcore CPU of similar architecture (Haswell Refresh)

 

I also saw 90-110fps (1080p Ultra TSAA) with my GTX970-OC with that i5 4690.

So you can extrapolate data from that.

 

I would think that any modern Quadcore + 1050ti or RX470/570 would suffice for all Titantall2's lifetime.

cut the ram down to 8gb and put a gtx 1060 6gb much better then 1050

Agreed, (OP) you can always buy ram later on at a little extra cost, but changing a GPU will cost you more.

Spend more on the GPU now and get Memory later if even needed...

(All games run fine, just a little less smoother than with 16GB, and to some, can't even notice differences)

 

SSD helps, but isn't the end of the world... boot times increase, application loading (first time use) will be slower, but once its in memory, it will open the second time really fast anyway (due to windows diskcache mechanism)

A oced 1050ti and a ryzen 1400 oced a bit should give you playable fps.

If your on a budget stay away from intel. Look at the lower end Ryzen 3 or 5 CPUs. They offer serious bang for the buck and are still plenty fast.

My "cheap" is $250 lol. $500 is that awkward spot where niether used or new makes sense, and $700 is a nice spicy new PC.

simple, it isn't essential. you can scream "ssd makes PC faster" as loud as you want but it still won't do jackshit for game fps. meanwhile if you get a better CPU or GPU with the ssd money you get a good boost to your framerates.
