About Ryzen and Ram

I have everything settled:Ryzen 5 1600 and gtx 1060 to play Esport titles on a 144hz monitor(probably the Asus VG248QE)but I still don't know what to do with my ram.There is a G.Skill Trident Z 3200mhz which is perfect,but because its a 16gb kit it costs too much.I could either get 1 8gb stick for now and upgrade when needed and get a decent case,motherboard and psu or cheap out on those 3 and get the 16gb kit.The problem is,if I get a single 8gb stick it will either have a low frequency (2133-2400) or get a 3000mhz from G.Skill that isn't officially supported on the motherboard's website.I don't know if higher ram frequency is important when I play games like Overwatch with a gtx 1060,but I do want 144+fps on medium/high settings 1080p.Whats your opinion?1*8gb stick at 2133/2400,1*8gb stick at 3000 but not officially supported or 2*8gb sticks at 3200mhz but cheap out on the case motherboard and power supply?

You don't have to get over 3k.2800 should be fine. Woudn't reccomend going under that though

something like a 1060 won't benefit greatly from fast RAM. though it's always nice to have to squeeze every fps

I live in Greece and prices suck.And for me to get 16gb 3200mhz ram that is supported officially by my motherboard would cost me 155€.

Honestly just get the fastest 16gb kit you can afford.I wouldn't get 8gb just for faster RAM

doesn't really matter, get the cheapest 16GB DDR4-2800, 3000 or 3200.

It's not "supported officially" it's just the few select kits the mobo maker decided to test with. Cheapest 3000MHz kit will do the job, whether it be 8GB or 16GB.

Probably because it's a gpu limited situation which goes ou5 the window when you play games like overwatch at 144hz. If the cpu because the bottleneck then it will make a difference.

Okay I thought that other ram kits that werent supported just straight didn work.Then I'll guess I'll grab myself this:

G.Skill Aegis 8GB DDR4-3000MHz (F4-3000C16S-8GISB) for the Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 or the Asus Prime B350 Plus.Still have to choose between these two

that is true. however it won't show as large a difference with a 1060. that said discounting RAM speeds isn't ill advised. it's still worth grabbing some 2933mhz+ RAM if you can, for that time when you get a faster GPU or games you play are performance-inclined or cpu-intensive
