Yeah that was the exact card i had. It will do fine. It's cool and quiet, even if the fans are on full blast.

i don't really want to do that.. mostly because my room gets very warm, and my pc is on for 10 hours a day, so a power hungry gpu is not what i want to use. 

 

also, if i can get good enough performance out of an rx 460 then that's the better option isn't it... i just don't know if that's good enough...

I had a Asus Rx 460 Dual, it worked flawlessly, it should gave your demands a good feast. so yeah, go with that.

the GT 1030 is more so like for a gaming pc for your TV. You know for games that use a controller. 30fps gaming in some games, etc. But for everyday PCMR gaming nah. best to get a GTX 1050ti or higher.

Nope, you can even see that it has a hole in the place where the connector should go, Picture 3 and 4 show that it doesn't require one. and also, if you scroll to the box, it says Unplgged, that means no external connector required.
