Good GPU waterblock recomendations?

Hi Everyone,

 

So I'm looking for a good water block for a Strix 1080. Running two in SLI and thought it might be a cool build in a Corsair Obsidian Series 900D or Corsair Carbide Series Quiet 600Q. Going for silence. Suggestions?

well i've actually heard good things about Phanteks' new line. worth seeing how the prices compare. but EKWB is what I've always used

Yeah, the new Phanteks ones look pretty nice, and you can keep the STRIX's original RGB backplate!

Bitspower makes what are probably the best, EK makes really solid ones and Phanteks is looking very RGB (His Majesty approves!)

You can keep the STRIX backplate with EK as well, just don't get one of EK's backplates.

That's pretty neat (I couldn't say cool, too on the nose). This is my first LC build, and I'm stoked.

Didn't know that! But I do think the nickel BPs are slick

Yeah personally I would replace the backplate, EK's backplates are awesome.

I'm actually not a massive RGB fan. I like it for being able to fine tune the colors of components, but I just leave it on a static color. I don't care about the rainbows at all, that gets old and gaudy quick.

nickel or matte black plates are so clean and I love that they say the GPU model

OK, thanks, I knew I wasn't crazy! I think the EK block prevents the RGB LED connectors from reaching their targets maybe

Can you run more then 1 water block to a radiator without a huge difference in cooling?

It depends on the rad size but if you are going with a single CPU and dual GPU setup the minimum would be suggested is a total of 480mm of rad space. An example is two 240mm rads.

I'll differ from everyone else in saying EK is very "meh" with sketchy customer service.  People just recommend it because they have the most advertising / sponsor budget and it's all they know.  I'd go with Watercool Heatkiller blocks over EK.

Was just checking on that when you replied.  OP done goofed buying a non reference card and is now cornered into buying 1 brand.  Hell I'd probably try Bitspower or Phantek over EK anyways.

well if he's had them on air for a while makes sense but yeah I agree a reference-PCB card with an aftermarket air cooler is the best thing to buy if you have ANY hopes of future WCing
