Scammed by Overlockers UK.

I would believe I am out of luck on this.

I contacted Overlockers UK using a website to which I addressed to them the fault with the product, and presented them with a two page article on my attempts at a diagnosis and fix for the fault.

In reply from Overlockers I was told the item had a 90 day warranty from purchase, which is by now quite sometime gone, and require a invoice as I purchased in-store, something which I think we disposed of... Out of what would now call my own carelessness.

I may likely now just have to move on and save up for another board like such, as my original intention with the board was to be able to run 980ti SLI should I believe single card performance lacked in the future.

Kind regards and a grateful thanks to all in whom replies and helped hugely,

Well, that is unlucky, but at least you tried.

Next time buy from place that has better customer service :/

Hello! Sorry if this seems like a rant as it really is.

Me and my family traveled the relentless two hour journey to the main Overlockers UK store, for absolute nothing. Just an mammoth waste of fuel and time.

I arrived and found myself shelling out on a purchasing of a knowingly a B-Grade, £60 motherboard, specially the Gigabyte GA Z97X-SLI (A absolute monster of a board for the price point I got it for) (Note, Overlockers UK even states that despite the grade it should be fully operational for normal use on there website) one to which I had been assured by the obviously bored staff memeber that it had been completely tested using 'specialist' programs to assure functioning order of the device.

And what an absolute load of junk those claims were. For hecks sake...

It hasn't been since February that I dared touch of the Gigabyte Z97X-SLI that has forever been gaing dust beneath my bed. Plagued with an issue incredibly difficult to track a fix for the board forever restarts the system, switching on, then off, then on, and off. And forever on without any stop, noise, beep or any sign of an obvious issue. At this point I literally have an entire two page document on all of the attempts of diagnosis/fixes for the issue (I could not get any beeps from the board, just some red LED flashes on the rear which don't appear to have any meaning). I really just flipping give up at this point, and it just tires me to see that a £60, two hour journey have absolutely nothing positive in return. I cant be honestly bothered even getting it repaired as no were local have tools to fix it nor would they probably want to try on a board quite as high end as this one.

now what do I do... No warranty.

Hello! Thank you for you reply :3

As of the time when I purchased the motherboard I had rather limited knowledge on assembly of computers, as me and my father did not use the board until two months getting it, and that would void most warranty claims. It did not have warranty on the board at all as it was B grade so contacting them may not help.

If anything I do feel abit like ranting at them on customer support to see if anything can happen but I would strongly doubt it as it has just being sitting there since we found it didn't work in Christmas and when I tried diagnosis on it in February.

You should contact them even when there is no more warranty.

IF they have good customer service, they would at least help you troubleshoot, find out which part is faulty (since they have extra cpu, ram, power supply and etc). And perhaps tell you how much you have to pay if you want to repair it.

I just finished writing a customer complaint of some sort which I should receive an email reply to within the next 24 hours. Thank flipping goodness I do not require a order number/RMA as I did not actually know I was getting the board as my father allowed me to buy it completely unexpected xD please do wish me luck as I am really hoping the reply is good as if I get dis motherboard working 980ti SLI HERE I COME!! :D:D

thank you you very much for your reply! I am really grateful for your suggestion since I had mostly just presumed that without warranty I would be left out in the cold.

Kind regards,

Or you know, fully test the device right when you get it and return if bad.

Hi!

Thank you for you reply.

As of when I purchased the motherboard I was no particularly knowledge able at all with that of computer hardware as compared to now. I didn't think at the time there would have been any issues as I had been assured by the staff member who assisted me and my father the motherboard was completely functional, and had been tested using software such as memtest. And the reason why I am mostly annoyed is because of them saying it worked when it clearly did not.

I also did not have the hardware to test it at all when I purchased it since I was awaiting Christmas before I started receiving money to actually buy the rest of my hardware. Good thing I had my motherboard from another prebuilt or I'd have been really been disappointed when we assembled everything.

The board was also certainly not damaged since I kept it on my lap for the whole journey in its antistatic bag and I treated it like a gold bar since I was really nervous about how easy it looked to snap back then xD

oh god, this sounds painful to hear, Energy I feel sincerely sorry for you as I understand how bad tech "specialists" at stores are, but hearing this about Overclockers is shocking, how can they have so under-prepared staff as this?? to spew out lies like that is both bad for them and the customer, after all, they are the ones making money out of this (certainly I would read up on a job before committing to it) so I don't get why they do this... it's like they want to trick people because they may not understand, or that the "specialists" are just so egotistical that they don't even think about their words... Would atleast expect this from curry's PC world

OOo 1050ti (cries in silence) -- Nath xD

1 buy "B grade" board (open box return?)

2 throw away receipt

3 store under bed

4 don't attempt to use until warranty is up

5 make excuses about lack of experience

6 rant about how you were wronged

I don't get it, you screwed up. Move on.
