Upgrading from a GTX 780

Guest

Hi, i'm looking to upgrade my GTX 780, i'd like to spend $200 but my cap is $350 if the performance is worth it. I mostly game and other casual uses less important. Specs below

if the prices of the gpus are still high due to mining i'd honestly wait. The question would as well whether its worth it to upgrade from a 780 to gtx 1060 for 30% more performance and a bit more Vram

Maybe a used 1070 would be good here after the mining craze

kepler is more power hungry than pascal so therefore 780 requires more power and puts out more heat than a 1060

yes and? upgrading purely on that doe wouldnt make any sense. Any decent power supply with 500w can power that thing

I mean a 1060 6GB has double the VRAM and the GPU would be like 10% faster. It's a pretty latteral upgrade, but the VRAM alone would be pretty useful at 1440p.

What particular games are you looking to play?  If the question is mainly that you're looking for the cheapest card that also provides a significant improvement, something a 980ti or 1070 would be my suggestion.  Possibly a 970 or 1060 but like others have said, the current market makes these suggestions a bit more difficult.  Wait a little while longer, prices will drop.

Any game under the sun. And yeah I wasn't looking to buy right now maybe in a few months.
