8350 bottlenecking 1060?

Not really, great choice, but getting a Ryzen at that price is an even better choice, make some compromises for it.

an 8350 is a poor choice by today's standards and has been for the last like 3 years, it wasnt the worst of cpus, just very power hungry and sucked for gaming.

Yes there will be quite some bottlenecking with that 8350, you can overclock the CPU(if the motherboard is decent) to eliviate it a bit at least

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Ok, well, the bottleneck wouldn't be too bad. Although I would recommend an upgrade at some point in the next 1-2 years.

Don't go and upgrade to Ryzen right now when you've just built, though. The performance won't be a MASSIVE difference.

streaming wise ryzen will be much much better, your 8350 will start to show some serious bottleneck from a 1070 upwards, it already bottlenecks now.

Not really, considering it is on par with an i3 it should be fine.

70fps in Overwatch is less then I'm getting with the 970 at stock speeds (iirc, have played it in quite a while)

of course there is, brah, an 8350 was pretty much on par with like a 2nd gen i3 gaming wise.

the ryzen 1600 is better than 7th gen i7s in multitasking at a much better price and not insanely far off gaming.

yeah i was running on a lenovo y70 laptop so this is a MASSIVE inprovement. i do see now that i will have to  upgrade parts in a few years where as if i took my time and looked through more. probably could have saved me a lot more money in the future. oh well.
